Shaq wished Kobe a happy birthday, and it looked like a jab at his shooting percentage

Shaquille O’Neal’s tumultuous relationship with Kobe Bryant played a huge role in their Lakers breakup. The two have managed to move on and reconcile their differences in recent years.

But Shaq is a jokester, so when he wished Kobe a happy birthday on a “well deserved 4-28 day,” it looked like a joke about Kobe’s shooting percentage.

Kobe shot a career-worst 35.8 percent from the floor last season, but to be fair, he’s never had a 4-for-28 game in his career. Many were confused.

The answer was quite obvious, though.

Shaq meant to type “8-24,” which makes up Bryant’s numbers as a Laker and refers to Los Angeles’ “Kobe Bryant Day” on Aug. 24. He deleted the first tweet and posted a corrected version.

Still, Shaq should have stuck to that first tweet. It would have been a nicely executed birthday joke.
